Sun is an important planet in Vedic Astrology. It represents our head, father, paternal assets, hormonial relationship with the government, good career, success in politics. These are all represented by Sun. Many more aspects of a birth chart can be checked by the placement of Sun.

But many considers Saturn as a totally bad and the destroyer of benefic yogas in the birth chart. Actually Saturn is the reciprocal of Sun. Conjunction of Sun and Saturn could make father and sun going in different directions. But people afraid of Saturn consider this as a destruction of father relationship and career.

In Politics, Sun can be represented as a Leader or King and Saturn can be represented as a Follower or anybody from People. Leader cannot exist without followers. Sun influenced Leader wanted to capture the throne to rule the people. But Saturn influenced follower never wanted to dominate and only interested in serving his Leader. He just wanted to get his autographs, selfie with the Leader.

King cannot exists without people. No one wanted to be the king of a barren land. King needs people. Kingship and the ego of king is fulfilled when king gets attention from people. On the other hand, a follower does not need attention from others. Saturn influenced people wanted to live on their own. They wants to be free from attentions. People who like living in remote places, living alone are more influenced by Saturn. Sun likes to be in a crowd, but Saturn likes to be alone.

When one have something as assets, he would also have the fear of losing the assets. Sun posses many assets along with the fear of losing assets. We may think that a king is brave and not having fear. Braveness is nothing but the reciprocal of Fear. Braveness is not showing our fear and acting fearless. Sun is a king with assets and brave. Saturn is a man with no assets and without fear.

To rule the people, a man should align his life with them. So, basically a Kingship needs the person to live with the people. A King needs some involvement in the materialistic life. But a person does not need much involvement with the government. Here Sun seems committed and bonded and Saturn seems independent and free from bonds.

King goes involved much and become materialistic. Only a materialistic person can posses assets. But an individual person is not so materialistic and wanted to have a simple life. Saturn is not materialistic but spiritualitic. A Spiritual person is not involved but detached from worldly pleasures.

Sun and Saturn are not opposite and are not destroying each other. But they are two sides of a coin. They are like pot and cap. Only Pot can hold water, but only the lid can protect the water from insects. Sun and Saturn are two half of the whole being. Without Sun, Saturn cannot exists and vice Versa.

We are all getting influence of Sun and Saturn in our horoscope. Based on the quantity of their influence, houses affected, power of influence, we will lead our life. We are not completly Sun influenced and not completely Saturn influenced.
