Whenever a planets become combust, it loses its power. The loss of power is based on the closeness to the Sun. Similarly small planets like Venus, Mercury, and Moon will be affected more by Combustion. Large planets like Jupiter and Saturn, Mars will be affected less by combustion.

When the planets become combust, its ability to provide its own results will be gone or diminished. Similarly the aspects also become diminished. Aspects of Venus and Mercury will gone almost.

Aspects of planets are usually calculated by their relative size, and the distance. When planets comes very close to sun, power of sun makes the planet’s qualities become diminished. But one thing is Rahu and Ketu is not having any combustion with Sun because they are not actual planets but they are very big shadows. As they are shadows, they are not having any aspects and also no combustion.

By combustion, the native may get benefic or malefic results based on the combusted planets and its lordships for the ascendant. For a Aquarius ascendant, if Mercury become combust in 7th house along with Sun, its 8th house negative qualities will be gone. So, Mercury will not give any malefic results during its Dasha and Antardasha. At the same time, 5th house results will also be affected because Mercury is also the lord of 5th Gemini.

In some cases, the combustion could be totally fruitful for the native. For example Mercury is 3rd and 6th lord for Aries ascendant. When it become combust with Sun, it is good for the native. There will be no negative results. For everybody, 6th lord should lose his power. Here, because of Sun, 6th lord Mercury lost his power, thus beneficial for the native.

For Jupiter, Saturn, Mars, their aspects will work even with Combustion. But only in less amount.
